Marple Loves The Coterie!

Want to know what goes on at One Alfred place when the Coterie takes over?

I knew it was time for Makeup Marple to investigate!

Well, its not your usual 'hair industry event'.... There are no models strutting around with crazy cuts and colours.... No awards..... We have plenty of those coming up very soon with award season on the horizon!

The Coterie is more of an elite members club that meets four times a year in a relaxed environment that links the hair world to the fashion world. They are networking evenings where you can meet likeminded people in hair, fashion or beauty related industries and chat over a lovely glass of wine.

It's a great reminder that these industries are linked and we cant have one without the other. I know myself after a long day at work I find it refreshing to look at what we do from another perspective. With fabulous guests at each event who have a unique and inspiring story to tell, it opens your mind to new possibilities.

Whether your focus is creative or business there definately is something for everyone!

This time round we heard from Jo Fairley- beauty editor turned Eco-businesswoman extraordinaire. Co writer of The Beauty Bible (which is one of Makeup Marple's bibles) AND also creator of THE Green & Blacks chocolate. (Yuuuuuuummmm!!)
Jo had an amazing tale of her career path and reminded us that in business you ultimately have to take some kind of risk to succeed. With 2 successful brands to call her own she knows where it's at!

Next up, was Beverley Streeter, founder of the legendary Streeters agency, interviewed by Susanna Flynn from Ketchum PR.

As a keen sessionista, I know too well that the acclaim and reputation of Streeters is well deserved. This creative agency is home to the god's of the session world. It was so inspiring to hear how Beverley grew her company from humble beginings into the global empire that it is today.

And just when you thought the night couldn't get better, we went home armed with a fab goody bag courtesy of Pureology plus the latest edition of Creative Head Magazine.

So to all you hairdressers that want to be inspired, I suggest you get in touch with Marcel & join the Coterie NOW!!
